European Universities Football Championship 2025: Day 1
The first day of the 2025 European University Football Championships wrapped up today, with the men's teams kicking off the competition.
In Group A, the home team, the University of Camerino, opened the games, challenging the Technical University of Munich and losing 1-0. The match took place at the Cus Camerino sports centres. Meanwhile, at the UNICAM sports facilities, Ege University and the University of Jyväskylä faced off, ending the match 1-0.
In Group B, the University of Porto went head-to-head with the University of Fribourg at the San Severino Sports Ground, ending in a 1-1 draw. Also in Group B on the same pitch, the University of Timisoara beat Montpellier 1-0.
In Group C, the University of Granada and the Polytechnic University of Turin played at the Matelica Sports Centre, ending the match 1-0. Still in the same group, the University of Rouen took on the University of Ostrava with a score of 4-1.
Finally, in Group D, the teams from the University of Zagreb and Pompeu Fabra faced off at the Castelraimondo Sports Centre, ending in a 2-2 draw.
Next up in the women's competition were our athletes from the University of Camerino clashed with the University of Lille, ending the match 2-4. Also in Group A, the teams from the University of Aman (Ukraine) and the University of Würzburg met on the field, with the match ending 2-1 in favour of Würzburg. Both matches were played at the municipal sports hall in Camerino.
In Group B, the women's teams from the University of Montpellier and the University of Gdansk faced each other today, ending the match 1-0. The University of Frankfurt and the University of Groningen also played at the same municipal sports hall in Camerino, with a score of 4-1.
Finally, in Group C, the University of Granada beat the University of Zagreb 1-0 at the University of Camerino sports grounds.
