EUSA Football 2025 quarterfinals: day 5
The European Universities Football Championships 2025 continued today with an action-packed fifth day featuring quarterfinals and placement matches. Competing teams battled for rankings between 9th and 15th place in the men’s division and between 9th and 11th in the women’s competition.
This morning, the men’s teams from the University of Munich and the University of Montpellier faced off in Camerino, with Montpellier securing a 3–2 victory. Simultaneously in Matelica, Pompeu Fabra University edged out the Polytechnic University of Turin 3–2 in a tightly contested match.
Later on, the University of Fribourg defeated the host team, the University of Camerino, with a solid 2–0 result.
In the afternoon, the University of Timisoara dominated their match against the University of Jyvaskyla at the Unicam sports facilities, winning 3–0. Meanwhile in Matelica, the University of Granada emerged victorious over the University of Zagreb with a 2–1 scoreline.
Also in the afternoon, the University of Porto and Ege University ended their encounter in a goalless draw in Camerino. Wrapping up the men’s matches in Matelica, the University of Rouen claimed a 2–0 win against the University of Wurzburg.
Turning to the women’s tournament, the day kicked off at Camerino’s municipal field with the University of Aveiro falling 1–2 to the University of Uman. The University of Montpellier triumphed in a thrilling 4–3 match against the University of Granada.
At the University of Camerino sports complex, Wurzburg defeated the University of Gdansk 2–0. Shortly after, the University of Frankfurt overpowered the University of Lille with a decisive 5–2 victory.
The final match of the day saw the University of Groningen overcome the University of Zagreb in a high-scoring 6–4 clash on the Camerino municipal field.
The tournament now heads into its final stretch, with semifinals set for tomorrow and the grand finals scheduled for Sunday.
Meanwhile, tonight the CUS Camerino sports complex will host the annual Phoenix Festival. The first evening will be opened with the Rubbish, a famous Oasis tribute band and will be closed tomorrow evening with the eagerly awaited indie singer Franco 126.
