EUSA Football 2025 Semifinals: Day 6
The penultimate day of the 2025 European Universities Football Championship featured the men's semifinals and the last placement matches to finalize the tournament bracket.
At the Livio Luzi Stadium in Camerino, the day began with the University of Munich facing the Polytechnic University of Turin, the latter lost the match securing 15th place. On the same field, the University of Fribourg went up against the University of Ostrava, who won decisively with a 3-0 scoreline.
In Matelica, the morning match saw the University of Montpellier and Pompeu Fabra University battle it out. Pompeu Fabra advanced after a penalty shootout. Later in the afternoon, the University of Jyvaskyla was defeated 3-0 by the University of Wurzburg, while the University of Porto triumphed over the University of Zagreb, also via penalties.
Meanwhile, at Camerino’s Sports Complex, the first men’s semifinal took place between the University of Timisoara and the University of Rouen, Timisoara came out on top after a tense penalty shootout. The second semifinal featured Ege University and the University of Granada, with Granada clinching victory over the Turkish team thanks to a final penalty.
In the women’s competition, the University of Camerino finished in 11th place after a loss to the University of Zagreb. The University of Gdansk was then defeated 3-1 by the University of Granada. Additionally, the University of Lille and the University of Aveiro competed for their final rankings, with Aveiro winning 6-2.
Later in the day, two women’s semifinals took place at the Camerino municipal field. The University of Wurzburg narrowly defeated the University of Montpellier 1-0. In the other match, the University of Frankfurt beat the University of Uman in a dramatic penalty shootout.
The tournament concludes tomorrow with the men’s and women’s finals, along with the final placement matches that will determine the main and consolation bracket standings.
On Sunday, August 4th, the closing ceremony and the awards presentation for the winning teams will be held at the Livio Luzi Stadium in Camerino.
